Our Second Annual Galana Energies Foundation Meeting: A Success!

In 2023, we established the Galana Energies Foundation so that we could better serve and connect with the students whose education we sponsor every year. Since 2008, we have supported hundreds of students with scholarships and support through partner organizations. Now, it was time to bring our support even closer to home, with our very own foundation.

At our first Galana Energies Foundation annual meeting, we were able to connect with the first cohort of our wonderful beneficiaries and their families. We set the stage for building amazing, genuine relationships with our students and their support systems at home. This year, we prepared to make the annual meeting even bigger and better. We had doubled the number of students we sponsored from 40 to 80, and we had increased the number of our mentors as well!

With the Galana Energies foundation, we don’t stop at providing financial support for these gifted students - we also contribute to their development outside the classroom. By connecting each student with a mentor, we’re able to provide them support and help them reach their full potential! Several of our Galana Energies staff have stepped up to help guide these students, giving them advice and helping them navigate problems such as staying positive, and choosing the right subjects for their dream careers.

We also had sessions that helped the students to better outline their goals and plan for their futures. These sessions help the students stay motivated throughout the year and express their self-determination.

Their parents weren’t left behind! At their request, expert facilitators were tasked with helping them understand how they could best assist their teens to reach their goals, build character, and grow.

Our mentorship program has been well received by our beneficiaries and their parents. So this year, we decided to support our Galana Energies staff mentors by providing them with expert training on how to serve their mentees better. They were able to use these insights to better connect with their students at our annual meeting, with great success.

All in all, we're thrilled to share that our second annual meeting was a resounding success! It's been an incredible journey watching our young scholars grow and flourish.

Our foundation's mission is to invest in the future of Kenya by providing quality education to underprivileged students. We've witnessed first-hand the transformative power of education, and it's inspiring to see the hope and determination in our scholars' eyes. The purposeful energy in their studies, the smiles on their faces, and the glittering hope in their eyes when they talk to us about their dreams, have reaffirmed our commitment to invest in the future of Kenya and help create a society that will push the boundaries of innovation and stay at the forefront of future civilization.
